Program

1st Day June 20, 2024

9:00 Welcome

9:15 Keynote 1: Pedro Vieira. OSINT – Beware. Your data is out there.

Open-source intelligence is the process of transforming data, available from public sources, into intelligence. Intelligence is value-added information that allows increased knowledge, decisions or actions to be taken. The questions to be answered by OSINT are: How to get the right/related data? The Internet was created to share data. Every day the amount of information is growing at an exponential rate. Finding the needle in a haystack is quite valuable. How to transform the filtered data into intelligence? We’ll show how to pivot from one piece of information to another, aggregate the gathered information, improve the filtering, and transform the data. It’s ok to have nothing to hide, but is it ok to show everything? Why can this be dangerous?
